Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards and O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on Sunday following the team's 10-match without a victory start to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would create a possible hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

Nevertheless the former Luton Town manager - who played more than 100 of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a strong candidate for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the club directors as they start the process of hiring a new head coach.
