The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
