The UK airline is introducing no-cost fast onboard connectivity by way of satellite agreement
Travelers aboard British Airways are set to access high-speed internet in the air at no cost after a recent partnership involving Elon Musk's space provider.
No-cost plus Fast Connectivity for All
British Airways announced that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” wifi provision via Starlink will be available to travelers in economy, business, or first class starting soon.
Widespread Deployment Throughout Various Flight Operators
The umbrella organization of BA, International Airlines Group, stated it had finalized an agreement with Starlink to offer connectivity services for 500-plus planes within their airlines, including the Irish airline, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.
Uninterrupted Internet starting at Gate through Landing
The airline stated that this rollout for this service was included in a multi-billion pound “upgrade” program and would provide smooth wifi access to passengers starting at the gate to landing, also when traveling above large bodies of water or far-off locations.
Customers will be able to hook up several gadgets and won't need to require a separate login.

Existing Connectivity Options
Limited internet access remains available to British Airways flyers across the majority of its jets using its .air system.
Enrollees of the airline's frequent flyer program can dispatch texts and plain-text correspondence onboard without paying, whereas flyers who want to watch audio, video, and films on their travel and are not flying in first class can expect to be charged from four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 for one wifi package.

The airline's leadership has been working to turn British Airways around after a long time with cost cutting, system failures, labor disputes, and staff cuts.

Profit Outlook
Earlier this year, the carrier disclosed a rise in financial performance for the first six months recently, contributing to IAG’s earnings higher.
IAG is set to report their results for the three months this summer soon.
Other Satellite Partnerships
The airline's announcement arrives shortly after mobile phone operator another UK company revealed it was teaming up with the satellite provider to improve wireless service in the countryside of the UK, by allowing consumers to automatically link mobile devices via satellites when no standard network coverage can be found.
